Nominet reduces prices for transfers
Nominet has decided to help out those domain owners who wish to move their domain to another provider but are handicapped by rogue agents who charge massive amounts for transfers.
While most reputable companies allow domain transfers at no cost, some charge as much as £8background-color: #b7c3cf; -moz-border-radius: 10px; min-height: 20px; width: 575px; font-weight: normal; padding: 15px 15px 15px 15px; (and in one case £15background-color: #b7c3cf; -moz-border-radius: 10px; min-height: 20px; width: 575px; font-weight: normal; padding: 15px 15px 15px 15px;.
In the past it has cost us much as £8background-color: #b7c3cf; -moz-border-radius: 10px; min-height: 20px; width: 575px; font-weight: normal; padding: 15px 15px 15px 15px; to have manual changes made via Nominet. This has now been reduced to £1background-color: #b7c3cf; -moz-border-radius: 10px; min-height: 20px; width: 575px; font-weight: normal; padding: 15px 15px 15px 15px; per domain, or £15 for two or more domains. Shifting ownership of two domains has been reduced from £6background-color: #b7c3cf; -moz-border-radius: 10px; min-height: 20px; width: 575px; font-weight: normal; padding: 15px 15px 15px 15px; to £22.
These changes free consumers (domain owners) from over reliance on their internet companies. If they find the companies unwilling or expensive in making the transfer, all they have to do is go to Nominet.
This change should be almost universally welcomed.
