From Exchange to Sendmail
This weekend we took the step of downing our MS Exchange server, and replacing it with a linux based mail transport.
We took this step really as a time saver. We don't have a lot of time to spare, and wasting it trying to work our way around MS admin panels, trying to stem the flow of spam and virus attacks in a pretty GUI (a pretty slow gui) was driving us nuts.
The only reason we had stayed so long with MS, was really to keep in touch with the software setups used by our clients. Now we have taken the decision to move because we have just had enough. We want to be able to see the configurations we apply, rather than having everything hidden behind a set of windows and buttons. We want to be able to adjust those configurations quickly and simply, by looking at them and changing them, rather than wading thru levels and levels of menus.
In addition, we find it quicker, more efficient, and of course cheaper too!
